Fall Fashion to a Tee
Heather Green
A legendary auto dealer, a stay-at-home dad and a lifelong Boy Scout don autumn's new argyles and sweater vests, as the men of eastern Wake show off looks from the 1920s and '30s that are hitting fashion fairways this fall. These men have different backgrounds but love what they do, and look good doing it.

If your style doesn't swing to argyle, the latest looks for men also include rich autumn shades such as mossy greens, rustic oranges and chocolate browns. The layered look is in, and mixing patterns makes for a fun slice of life.

See more of our eastern Wake men and their fashions in additional photos from our golf course shoot.

Elegant Weddings: The Fairy Tale Factor
Jennifer Buehrule Williams
If you're dreaming of a fairy-tale wedding, you're not alone — fairy-tale nuptials are a trend in the industry today, across the country.

Looking for the perfect spot to say 'I do?' Cross location off your to-do list, as we show off two beautiful sites, Barclay Villa in Angier and Castle McCulloch in the Triad, where dreams meet reality. Both feature beautiful ballrooms, gardens and more for ceremonies indoors or out.

Couples are "treated like they are in a fairy tale," said Cathy Honeycutt, of Barclay Villa. "It's the property, the house and the warmth they feel here." An enormous crystal chandelier there is "just amazing," said Paulette Skeen, of Castle McCulloch. "When you have candlelight in that room it makes the whole room twinkle. It's just magical."

A fairy-tale wedding also needs white doves and a horse-drawn carriage, followed by cake, of course, and a romantic honeymoon trip. Meet the special-detail pros who are all part of helping the happy couple begin their new life together.

'Tis the Season
Jennifer Buehrule Williams
Treats for Halloween and tricks for a gorgeous Thanksgiving table — see all of the above as we help you prepare for fall's festivities.

Whether making snacks for a class party or a spooky bash at home, you can craft monsters, pumpkins and witches on brooms using a creative twist on a longtime favorite, the Rice Krispies treat.

For a treat you will love, sit your family down to an elegantly set Thanksgiving meal, with touches of gold or copper for extra fall glitz. Find new ways to use items you already have in your home or yard, then tie in seasonal touches such as feathers or pinecones — fancy doesn't have to mean formal.

And be sure to see the next issue of Triangle East (coming in December) for more on winter holiday fun, food and decorating.

The homes may not be visible to you and me, but Wendell Falls developer Greg Ferguson can see all 4,000 of them. Pointing to cleared lots and newly paved roads, he says, "This right here will be where the first homes will be built. This is a huge deal. This is going to change the future of Wendell."

Almost five years since talk first began on developing the eastern Wake area, Wendell Falls is taking shape. Along with the homes, priced from $200,000 to more than $1 million, will come a school, WakeMed East Healthplex, a YMCA, shops and a park on the shores of Lake Myra, all within a 12-minute commute to downtown Raleigh.
